Overview

The Marketing Copywriter is responsible for crafting engaging, accurate, and brand-aligned copy that resonates with diverse audiences across multiple platforms. This role supports Central Health’s mission by ensuring that all written materials—whether patient-facing, stakeholder-facing, community-facing, or internal—are clear, compelling, and consistent. The Copywriter will collaborate with Communications colleagues, internal teams, consultants, and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality communication assets in both English and Spanish. The Marketing Copywriter reports to the Director of Creative Services and works in strong collaboration with the Content Director and the Content team to ensure message and storytelling alignment.

 

Hybrid = Individuals in this position may work both at an approved off-site location and onsite at a primary location or multiple locations based on business needs.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Ensure all materials fulfill their marketing objectives, follow brand voice/grammar standards, and align with campaign and initiative messaging pillars, as well as the broader content strategy.
  • Proofread, edit, and transcreate copy to eliminate errors and ensure cultural relevance across English and Spanish audiences.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for copy-related questions across marketing and other creative projects.
  • Write, edit, and transcreate English and Spanish copy for digital, print, social, email, advertising, and websites.
  • Develop headlines, social posts, and short-form stories to support awareness campaigns.
  • Prepare copy for flyers, brochures, reports, webpages, presentations, and scripts.
  • Adapt copy to different audiences, including patient-facing (plain language, 6th-grade level, bilingual), recruitment, and stakeholder-facing materials.
  • Review and revise paid media copy from agency and other partners for brand and messaging consistency.
  • Proofread and edit health care delivery forms (eligibility and patient education) for plain language and accuracy.
  • Transcreate Spanish-language content to ensure it maintains intended meaning, proper formality, and cultural resonance.
  • Collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to research, draft, and refine messaging.
  • Write and update website content using SEO best practices and plain language standards.
  • Maintain and update the Central Health brand editorial and style guidelines, including SEO and social media standards.
  • Collaborate with designers and creative partners to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms.
  • Create and traffic creative briefs, manage workflow, and contribute to project organization.
  • Support campaign messaging development, including defining voice, tone, and key message frameworks. Actively contribute to high-priority campaigns by developing copy aligned to campaign objectives, products, and channels.
  • Provide copyediting and QA to ensure brand consistency across all materials.
  • Assist in campaign analytics reporting and help evaluate creative effectiveness.
  • Estimate timing for copy deliverables such as forms, webpages, and patient education materials.
  • Align copy with evolving content strategy informed by message testing, evaluation, and insights.
  • Contribute to post-mortems and lessons for campaigns and initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Creative Services and organizational goals.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field required.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 7 years full-time experience either in-house or in-agency in copywriting, preferably in healthcare, marketing, or related fields required.
  • Experience with branding and marketing copywriting required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
