Overview

This position will lead internal and external communications for the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer while providing direct functional support to the CEO, this role will serve as the CEO's primary communication partner, developing communications strategy, producing content that aligns with the CEO's voice, Central Health’s strategic communications plan. As part of Central Health’s Communications Department, this position will create and share content across internal and external channels. This role requires mirroring the CEO's schedule, which will include attending evening and weekend events and some travel. The position uses a hybrid work environment with flexibility for after-hours events and engagements while maintaining a minimum of four days per week in-office presence. The successful candidate must be available for regular team meetings and supervisor one-on-one sessions. The role functions like an internal journalist whose primary focus and subject matter expertise centers on the CEO, providing strategic direction for messaging, content strategy, communication angles, and management of all CEO communications to internal and external audiences. This position is critical in developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies that drive targeted outcomes within the established processes and standards of the Communications Department. Through strategic communications, this role inspires confidence about Central Health and our future in a broad range of audiences. The position requires exceptional writing skills, capturing the voice of the CEO and Central Health, with specialized expertise in social media content creation for executives. We're looking for a strategic thinker, excellent writer with a proficiency in using AI writing and presentation tools (e.g., ChatGPT and/or Perplexity) to enhance content creation while supporting the brand voice and voice of the CEO’s office. The successful candidate must be a collaborative team player with proven ability to create and implement outcomes-based communications plans, strategies, and tactics that advance business initiatives while maintaining alignment with departmental standards and processes.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Strategic Communication Leadership
  • Develop and implement comprehensive internal and external communication strategies that amplify the CEO's vision and strategic messaging
  • Provide strategic direction for messaging, content development, communication angles, and overall direction for
  • CEO communications to internal audiences
  • Function as a journalist with the CEO’s office as primary subject matter focus, developing compelling narratives and thought leadership content
  • As an integral member of the Communications Department, ensure all CEO communications align with established processes, standards, and organizational messaging consistency
  • Content Creation and Executive Writing
  • Create high-quality, engaging content including speeches, talking points, video scripts, internal communications, and social media content specifically designed for executive-level platforms.
  • Craft compelling content that positions the CEO as a thought leader while maintaining authenticity and organizational alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft effective prompts for AI systems to generate targeted communications materials including social media content, speeches, talking points, and other internal communications platforms.
  • Experience integrating AI tools into content workflows to improve efficiency and scale content production.
  • Knowledge of AI writing best practices, including prompt engineering, output optimization, and maintaining human oversight of automated content.
  • Understanding of how to use AI tools to create presentations including images and graphics and transcribe and integrate updated content into communication deliverables.
  • Produce prompt, strategic content that responds to organizational priorities, industry developments, and stakeholder needs.
  • Schedule and Event Management
  • Mirror the CEO's schedule requirements including attendance at evening events, weekend events, and local travel as needed
  • Support CEO communications needs during high-visibility events, speaking engagements, and stakeholder meetings
  • Coordinate with Executive Office teams to ensure seamless communication support across all CEO activities and commitments
  • Maintain flexible availability while adhering to minimum three-day in-office presence requirements
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration
  • Work within Communications Department processes and standards to ensure messaging consistency and professional excellence
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including HR, leadership, and external partners to ensure aligned messaging strategies
  • Build and keep relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to enhance CEO communication effectiveness, maximizing the use of a CRM platform
  • Participate in regular team meetings and keep consistent supervisor one-on-one meetings for strategic alignment and performance management
  • Performance Measurement and Strategic Analysis
  • Establish benchmarks for CEO communication effectiveness and report on key metrics and outcomes
  • Monitor and analyze communication impact across internal and external audiences
  • Use data-driven insights to continuously improve communication strategies and tactics

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted) in a related field such as marketing, communications, public relations, policy, English, or journalism.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience working with senior executives or public figures.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communications skills.
  • Executive presence and ability to work with discretion.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across a variety of functions and with all levels of management and employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver communications plans and tactics with measurable outcomes, using multiple channels, including digital/social media.
