JOB SUMMARY
The Systems Engineer is responsible for championing and driving a culture of continuous improvement throughout the Central Health System, which includes CommunityCare, and Sendero Health Plans. This role will help lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of continuous improvement methodologies, principles, and tools across all operational areas, including healthcare delivery, supply chain, administrative processes, and facilities. This role will foster a data driven approach to identify opportunities for improvement, optimize processes, enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall patient satisfaction.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Strategy & Leadership:
• Help develop and execute the overall system transformation strategy, aligning it with the company's strategic objectives and goals (OKRs).
• Help lead the transformation of culture, promoting a mindset of continuous improvement and problem-solving at all levels.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and champion for continuous improvement principles within the organization.
• Partner with senior leadership to identify key areas for improvement and secure necessary resources.
Implementation & Execution:
• Oversee the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies, including but not limited to Daily Management Systems (DMS), Visual Management, and Problem Solving (A3), Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Kaizen events.
• Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and other improvement workshops, ensuring effective problem definition, root cause analysis, and sustainable solutions.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness and impact of improvement initiatives.
Training & Development:
• Help develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for team members at all levels, from foundational concepts to advanced problem-solving techniques.
• Mentor and coach managers and team members on problem solving principles and their application.
• Build internal capabilities for continuous improvement by developing team members. Culture & Change Management:
• Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Effectively manage change associated with system transformation, ensuring stakeholder buy-in and sustained engagement.
• Communicate the progress and impact of continuous improvement initiatives to all levels of the organization.
Project Management & Collaboration:
• Manage a portfolio of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and achieve desired outcomes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to drive improvement.
• Identify and implement best practices from within and outside the organization.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Healthcare Administration, or related field (required)
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master's Degree- MBA, MHA, or advanced engineering degree
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 10+ years of progressive experience in operations, or continuous improvement roles (required)
