Overview

This position will lead internal and external communications for the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Reporting to the Manager of the Executive Office, this role will serve as the CEO's communication partner, developing communications strategy, producing content that aligns with the voice of CEO's and working with center of excellence partners to create and share content across internal and external channels. This role is responsible for developing and implementing internal communication strategies, that drive targeted outcomes. Part strategic planner, advisor, influencer, and marketer, this role is critical in inspiring strategic alignment with employees, trust in senior leaders and brand positioning.
They will work closely with the Communications Team on public relations, social media, partner relations, and all other external platforms. Together we ensure that we are inspiring confidence about Central Health and our future to a broad range of audiences.

 

In this role you will help develop strategic programming and execute communications for our CEO, articulating our mission, vision, business strategy, explaining complex issues in clear and compelling ways to key stakeholders, including employees, customers, government partners, the business community, healthcare
providers, and patients. We're looking for a strategic thinker, excellent writer, and collaborative team player with a proven ability to create and implement outcomes-based communications plans, strategies, and tactics that advance business initiatives.


This is a highly visible role that requires a proactive, forward-thinking approach and the ability to assess communications opportunities, understand many different audiences, and engage stakeholders in bold new ways. The successful candidate combines both strategy development and execution with a demonstrated ability to establish clear objectives and collaborate with all levels of the organization to create programs and content that generate meaningful outcomes.


The role will be hybrid.

Responsibilities

Strategic Communications Leadership:
• Lead development of strategic communications plans, messages, and tactics to amplify high-profile CEO engagements, in collaboration with colleagues across the enterprise, including Communications Department.
• Manage CEO thought leadership platform, including identifying/securing select opportunities with targeted audiences around Travis County, while also developing key messages and proof points to ensure consistent framework around core enterprise strategies that are authentic to the CEO’s voice.
• Align a communication strategy and message map for the CEO’s office with Central Health’s strategic communications plan, ensuring buy-in from key stakeholders.
• Establish engaging internal (employee) communication strategies to drive measurable results including employee engagement, and trust & confidence in senior leaders.
• Lead functional/ business unit communications partners to ensure implementation of enterprise strategies, and deep understanding of business-related communications initiatives.
• Build operational excellence, implement processes that drive long-term planning, high-quality content gathering, and rigorous execution across all aspects of Internal communications
• Develop specific metrics and adjust strategy and tactics over time based on results
• Ensure all communications deliverables stay on track and deliver results, manage reviews, overall cadence, and regular metrics reporting
Content Development:
• Partner with team to create, edit, and/or review all CEO communications, including speeches, video scripts, emails/letters, quotes and other communications to leaders, employees, and external stakeholders to promote, enhance and protect the CEO brand and reputation.
• Develop compelling presentations and talking points for speaking engagements that tell a story, reinforce the CEO’s thought leadership platform, and resonate with the targeted audience.
CEO Engagement:
• Craft compelling content on behalf of the CEO, translating our mission and purpose into meaningful stories and developing powerful messaging that drives Central Health’s positioning and brand
• Partner with the external communications centers of excellence leader to create CEO’s external presence in support of mission statement.
• Draft concise yet thorough briefing materials used to prepare the CEO for engagements
• Stay up to date on current events that may be relevant to CEO communications and build a solid network of subject matter experts to provide background, opinions, and clarification
• Ensure the CEO is briefed/prepared for all engagements with internal and external audiences by partnering with outside organizations and internal leaders to create robust briefing materials, including highlighting key objectives of engagements, backgrounders on the organization / leaders /commercial relationship / etc. and other information needed to successfully participate in the meeting (incl. recommended talking points).
• For select engagements, serve as primary contact / staff to CEO.
Measurement and Analytics:
• Use data-driven insights to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving continuous improvement.
• Incorporate feedback mechanisms and metrics into communications plans, and implement changes based on key findings that increase effectiveness.
Collaborator:
• Work in partnership with members of the Central Health Communications team to ensure all deliverable deadlines are met across the department.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as marketing, communications, public relations, policy, English, or journalism (Masters degree preferred)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: 5 years of relevant experience working with senior executives or public figures 
    Required: Strong interpersonal and written communications skills Required
     
    Preferred: Background in healthcare 
    Experience in the Office of the CEO and/or staff to Senior Executive leadership.
    Executive presence and ability to work with discretion
    Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across a variety of functions and with all levels of management and employees
    Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver communications plans and tactics with measurable outcomes, using multiple channels, including digital/social media 
    Familiarity/usage of AI tools
