Overview

The Supervisor, Supply Chain Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for the Infrastructure logistics team within a centralized supply chain model, supporting a multi-site healthcare enterprise. This position supervises staff across core supply chain functions including centralized ordering, receiving, transport, and distribution. The Supervisor, Supply Chain Operations ensures the efficient movement of medical supplies, durable medical equipment (DME), and administrative materials between clinics and administrative sites. This includes oversight of FF&E transport, facility relocations, and daily courier operations. The role also manages warehouse operations, vendor coordination, inventory flow, HIPAA compliance, safety training, and performance data reporting
to leadership. The Supervisor, Supply Chain Operations is a hands-on leader with a strong background in healthcare supply chain operations, vendor management, and logistics coordination.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Supervise, train, and schedule the daily activities of the supply chain team, including centralized ordering, receiving, transport, and distribution functions. Provide performance feedback, cross-train staff across functions, and support leadership development to enhance team flexibility and capability. Foster a collaborative, serviceoriented environment.
  • Manage centralized warehouse operations including inventory storage, staging, and replenishment. Ensure inventory accuracy, maintain tracking systems, and uphold FIFO and product expiration protocols. Maintain a clean, secure, and compliant storage environment.
  • Implement and maintain safe material handling practices, proper labeling, and clear workspace layout to minimize risk and support operational efficiency.
  • Oversee procurement and distribution of medical supplies and DME to clinical sites. Collaborate on stock level monitoring, order fulfillment, shortage resolution, and vendor communication.
  • Coordinate the delivery of supplies and materials to clinical and administrative sites. Oversee building relocations,
  • FF&E transport, and internal move logistics. Ensure timely, accurate administrative courier services.
  • Develop and manage reporting systems that track key supply chain metrics such as delivery efficiency, inventory usage, and order fulfillment rates. Provide regular dashboards and updates to support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, healthcare regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and vendor agreements. Promote a culture of safety and oversee safety training. Identify and implement logistics improvements to drive efficiency and quality.
  • Act as the primary liaison with vendors for medical supplies, equipment, and courier services. Support vendor evaluation, procurement coordination, and contract renewals in collaboration with Finance or Procurement.
  • Oversee logistics software and digital tools used for inventory tracking and reporting. Ensure effective system use and identify areas for automation or system enhancements.
  • Engage stakeholders across clinics and internal departments to align supply chain services with operational needs.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives and serve as a resource for logistics questions.
  • Support development and tracking of the supply chain operating budget. Provide cost forecasting for supply chain management including staffing, medical supplies, transport, and vendor contracts, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Participate in special projects, emergency supply coordination, and organization-wide initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the overall effectiveness of the supply chain function.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Associates Degree (higher degree accepted) In related field with 3+ years of supervisory experience in supply chain/logistics. OR
  • Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted) Supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years Supervising supply chain, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • 3 years Experience managing inventory systems, vendor relationships, and procurement processes.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: 

  • TXDL Valid Texas Drivers License Upon Hire
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (Within 1 Year)
