Overview

The Workforce Advocate will be an integral part of developing, implementing, and managing programs and  initiatives that support the overarching System Workforce Advocacy strategy. The Workforce Advocate will serve as a critical partner to leverage best practices to promote a culture of awareness and inclusivity. In this role, the Workforce Advocate will work with the Workforce Advocacy team and People team, as well as specific related committees, to connect business practices with goals and objectives.

 

***Hybrid = Individuals in this position may work both at an approved off-site location and onsite at a primary location or multiple locations based on business needs.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Support the goals and strategies that establish and sustain a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of inclusion-related content throughout the organization.
  • anage and implement programs that advance the System’s Workforce Advocacy strategy.
  • Work with the team and the Communications Departments to build employer brand and recruiting and marketing strategies that align with system’s
  • Communicate with critical stakeholders and staff to gather information on the success of the organization’s
  • Workforce Advocacy initiative(s).
  • Exhibit compassion, vulnerability, and empathy when working with employees.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert by providing guidance to staff about inclusive best practices.
  • Identify implicit associations that may lead to discrimination, inequality, and exclusion; collaborates with the
  • People team to present effective techniques to help managers and employees overcome stereotypes and biases.
  • Collaborate with People team to provide awareness training on unconscious bias to all staff.
  • Partner with the People team and the leadership team to assess the efforts on diversity and cross-cultural inclusion programs, establishes best practices, and identifies programs and plans to remove barriers that affect staff recruitment, retention, and advancement.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion awareness across the Central Health System.
  • Help analyze workforce demographic data, understand trends and reports progress to necessary stakeholders.
  • Serve as the champion for the organization’s DEIB Council(s) and/or similar programs.
  • Lead conversations to broad audiences and navigate crucial conversations regarding underrepresented communities, privilege, and equity

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent (higher degree accepted)

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted)

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year of professional work experience related to diversity with experience in maintaining diversity initiatives. 
  • 3 years working in HR, Project Management, Communication, Marketing, and/or Advocacy focused-support groups.
