Overview

This is a Hybrid position for indivduals residing in Travis County. Individuals in this position may work both at an approved off-site location
and onsite at a primary location or multiple locations based on business needs.

 

The Board Governance Specialist supports the Board Governance Senior Manager in performing essential
administrative and governance tasks for a local government entity, specifically focusing on responsibilities relevant
to a hospital district under Chapter 281 of the Health and Safety Code. Key duties include coordinating the
scheduling and logistics of public meetings, preparing and distributing meeting documents, taking minutes,
assisting with follow-up on action items, and maintaining the board request tracker. This role ensures effective
execution of governance processes and supports the board’s compliance with legal and organizational
requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage board and committee meeting schedules, logistics, and materials distribution.
  • Basic day-to-day communication with board managers related to scheduling, and meeting reminders.
  • Draft and track minutes and actions of board and committee meetings.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the board request/question tracker.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of board policies and procedures.
  • Assist with public information requests.
  • Provide administrative support for board meetings and board-related projects and initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication and information flow within the governance function and other departments.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associates Degree - Required
  • Bachelors Degree - Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 2 years of relevant experience supporting the governance structure & operations of a company.
