Overview

Central Health is seeking a motivated and community-driven intern to support its Health & Wellness team in advancing community health initiatives. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to work on special projects from concept to completion, including project planning, outreach, registration, volunteer coordination, and reporting.

 

The intern will also assist with operational and administrative support related to partnerships, logistics, and event execution.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions: 

  • Support the planning and execution of community health initiatives and wellness events.
  • Assist in developing outreach materials, tracking engagement, and coordinating registration and attendance.
  • Coordinate with partners and volunteers to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Assist with collecting and reporting data to inform outcomes and community impact.
  • Provide administrative support to the Health & Wellness team, including scheduling, documentation, and logistical coordination.
  • Support communications tasks such as updating flyers, drafting messages, or supporting social media posts in collaboration with Communications.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic conversations around community health improvement.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a demonstrated interest in community health, health equity, and public service. Ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Skills in event planning, community outreach, and administrative support.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Canva or Airtable is a plus

Qualifications

Minimum Education: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (higher degree accepted)

Minimum Experience: 

  • Less than 1 year of experience in Public Health, Public Affairs, Health Administration, Social Work, Communications, or a related field
