The Clinical Pharmacist will work at Multispecialty Clinic for the equivalent of 5 days a week (1 FTE) to support pharmacy clinical programs.
The role of the Clinical Pharmacist involves various responsibilities. The responsibilities include but not limit to designing, implementing, and overseeing pharmacy clinical programs; managing the formulary for floor stock; developing policies and procedures; advancing clinical practices among pharmacists; actively participating in work groups, meetings, and committees; performing tasks such as research and analytics, durable medical equipment (DME) ordering, and overseeing patient assistance programs (PAP); and providing education to both Central Health (CH) and CommUnityCare (CUC). Additionally, the pharmacist's role involves supporting selected managed care functions, including providing subject matter expertise (SME) on managing formulary and drug lists; supporting organizational decision-making on pharmaceutical adherence and access programs; supporting effective management of pharmacy vendor relationships; supporting relevant utilization management functions; managing pharmacy and drug benefit program operations; and providing leadership and guidance to ensure proactive responses to shifts in the regulatory and statutory environment.

Essential Functions |
Provide clinical pharmacy services based on collaborative practice agreements (CPA) and assist with medication refills. |
Offer health improvement guidance, address medication-related issues, and provide medication education to patients. |
Oversee the Pharmacy Patient Assistance Program (PAP). |
Deliver education to students, residents, and other healthcare professionals. |
Serve as a drug information resource for healthcare teams and act as a subject matter expert in the development of pharmacy programs and initiatives. |
Participate in EMR improvement efforts. |
Contribute to the development of clinical initiatives supporting prior authorization processes, plan designs, formulary management, specialty pharmacy, provider/member communication, retrospective drug utilization review, and clinical consultation with members and providers. |
Monitor emerging trends and regulatory changes in the pharmacy industry and provide strategic guidance to align with departmental and enterprise objectives, aiming to improve quality while achieving medical expense goals. |
Ensure program compliance with State, Federal, and accrediting body regulations, implementing corrective action plans as necessary. |
Coordinate preauthorization requirements with the PBM and the medical preauthorization workgroup. |
Perform administrative and other assigned duties. |
