Overview

The Fleet Management Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of vehicle fleet operations. Working closely with drivers, mechanics, and management, this role will ensure vehicles are maintained, operational, and compliant with regulations. This position involves overseeing vehicle maintenance scheduling, inventory management, driver coordination, and fleet data analysis to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Additionally, the Fleet Management Coordinator is responsible for driver qualifications, training, policy implementation, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

 

  • Develops and manages maintenance schedules, coordinates with mechanics, and oversees both regular maintenance and urgent repairs to ensure timely vehicle upkeep.
  • Performs periodic vehicle inspections for safety and operational readiness.
  • Tracks fuel usage and expenses.
  • Resolves issues related to vehicle breakdowns or accidents.
  • Ensures fleet operations comply with local, state, and federal regulatory regulations, DOT rules, and emissions standards.
  • Coordinates vehicle acquisitions, disposals, and inventory management.
  • Develops and implements strategies to mitigate risks associated with fleet operations, such as vehicle accidents, theft, and compliance issues.
  • Ensures adequate insurance coverage for fleet vehicles and manages claims efficiently.
  • Implements policies related to vehicle use, safety, seat belt usage, distracted driving, drug/alcohol testing, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains accurate records of driver qualifications, training sessions, policy acknowledgments, and incident reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 1 year vehicle fleet coordination, logistics.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years vehicle fleet coordination, logistics, or related field
