Overview

Under the general supervision of the Senior Director of Strategy and Information Design, the Demographics and Statistics Reporting Analyst will support the development and maintenance of strategic communications products that support the objectives and tactical goals of Central Health. This position will closely collaborate with subject matter experts, data analysts, content developers, and graphic designers, to create high-quality reports such as strategic plans, annual reports, demographic reports, and community health needs assessments. The Analyst will also oversee the development of white papers, and literature reviews and synthesize information on community health needs to inform program improvements and new initiatives. Areas of focus will include population demographics, clinical activity, and demographic indicators, healthcare service utilization, social determinants of health, strategic plan metrics, and KPI reporting.


In addition, the Demographics and Statistics Reporting Analyst will gather, organize, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data, preparing insightful reports to inform executive leadership. This role requires strong analytical skills to identify patterns and draw actionable conclusions and proficiency in graphic design software and data analysis tools. This position will also work closely with Central Health's operational, clinical, finance, government relations, and communications departments and the CEO's office and Central Health System partners to ensure data collection, research, reporting and strategic planning adhere to organizational standards.


The Analyst will represent Central Health at public events and meetings, effectively communicating strategic initiatives and community planning efforts. This position is considered hybrid, allowing for a flexible work environment that includes both onsite and approved offsite locations based on business needs.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Provides research leadership and support in the development and maintenance of Central Health strategic communications products such as strategic plans, annual reports, demographic reports, community health needs assessments, dashboards, white papers, and collateral materials. Works in collaboration with project managers, data analysts, graphic designers, photographers, copy writers and other cross-departmental staff as required.
    Overseas and contributes as a technical writing and editing expert, adheres to editorial, publishing and graphical guidelines, and creates visual concepts using graphic design software for key publications.
  • Assists in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating a variety of complex projects, including new programs and initiatives, seasonal projects, community engagement programs, community health needs assessment (CHNA), strategic planning support and legislative communications, policy initiatives, communications projects and campaigns, and scheduling. Prioritizes information requests and other time sensitive and confidential issues, concerns and questions.
  • Performs literature searches, research support, and synthesizes information on community health needs and status, program innovations, health care issues, and opportunities to support the improvement of existing programs and the development of new programs.
  • Collaborates with other members of the strategic planning team on various projects including vendor engagements, developing reports, producing RFPs, grant writing, white papers, and copyediting support.
  • Gathers, organizes and analyzes various forms of qualitative and quantitative information to prepare meaningful reports with clear, actionable insights and feasible solutions to inform critical decisions by executive leadership.
  • Skilled at using inductive reasoning to analyze information, identify patterns and connections within seemingly disparate data points, draw broader rational conclusions based on specific observations to understand complex situations.
  • Supports quantitative and/or qualitative analysis, including cleaning, organizing, summarizing information using descriptive statistics, tables, and figures and analyzing data.
  • Represents Central Health at public events, conferences and Central Health Board of Managers meetings to communicate Central Health's strategic initiatives and community planning efforts around specific issues.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Dynamics of health care and intergovernmental systems;
  • Issues facing residents of Austin, Travis County and Central Texas;
  • Up-to-date visual, written and interactive communications tools;
  • Media, public and government relations programs and communication;
  • Standard journalistic writing style and/or Associated Press Style;
  • Principles of graphic design and page layout and design;
  • Standard concepts, practices and procedures in electronic communications and web design;
  • Solid understanding of editorial and publishing principles and best practices and how to apply them;
  • Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, and other standard software related to communications production.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to express complex concepts in a straight forward manner;
  • Developing goals and processes for gathering and disseminating complex information;
  • Supporting a team of co-workers with diverse skills, backgrounds and experience;
  • Professional experience in writing, issue research and materials development;
  • Public speaking and presenting of complex subject before a range of audiences;
  • Strong project management skills in team settings;
  • Working in PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe InDesign and database software;
  • Developing talking points, briefing materials and collateral material;
  • Quickly locate and collect information and provide a cohesive narrative for reports, talking points, briefing content and presentations;
  • Efficiently manage multiple projects, deadlines and sources of information;
  • Develop multiple ideas or concepts as solutions for any projects, problems or other assignments;
  • Pay attention to details;
  • Develop strategic communications materials for diverse public audiences;
  • Work independently and with teams to develop solutions;
  • Attend events outside of regular work hours.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Completion; higher degree accepted

Preferred Experience: 

  • 5 years Relevant work experience that involves interpretation of, analysis and conveyance of complex concepts and information.
