Central Health is looking for a skilled endocrinologist, neurologist or rheumatologist to join our growing clinical programs, committed to serving the underserved communities in Travis County. In close collaboration with patients, families (as defined by the patient), and staff across all disciplines and departments, this physician will be responsible for providing appropriate consultation and continuing care for patients with her/his specialty. This position will also serve as clinical lead for the clinic in which she/he works. This position will also serve as an Associate Director for Medical Specialty services by supporting the Director of Specialty Care with administrative duties and clinical oversight over various other medical specialties. This position will support learners at various levels and may supervise advanced practice providers during direct clinical practice. This role will serve .6 in support of direct patient care and .4 in administrative oversight and support
Primary Accountabilities:
Provides appropriate consultation and continuing care for patients with problems related to their respective medical specialty.
Instructs patients and their families regarding procedures performed, plan of care, and follow‐up visit. Directs professional and ancillary health care staff during treatment of patients. Responds to inquiries from staff and patients regarding care and treatment.
Compiles patient medical data including health history, treatment plans, results of physical examination, etc. and records in electronic medical record.
Actively communicates with others in a clear, understandable, and professional manner in person and on the phone.
Demonstrates professional management skills, including planning, organizing, and scheduling work in an efficient and productive manner, focusing on key priorities and meeting deadlines.
Actively interact with peers, executives, employees, and consultants in a manner that represents Central Health positively.
Plans, promotes, demonstrates, recommends, and coordinates high standards of medical practice. Performs other duties as assigned.
People Management/Department Management/Business Unit Management:
Actively supports the Director of Specialty Care to support employed and contracted providers within the department.
Essential Functions
Works in tandem with Central Health's operational and clinical leaders to ensure a collaborative team-oriented environment.
Leads and motivates the medical providers under his/her supervision; uses effective medical and people performance management processes.
Performs or supports objective annual evaluations of all direct reports with the input from the practice leader and other stakeholders.
