Overview

The Senior Project Manager will work under minimal supervision of the Project Management Office Manager within the Service Delivery Operations Department and serve as a strategic thinking partner within the project team. The Senior Project Manager will manage various projects supporting the Healthcare Delivery Division's goal of creating a national model for healthcare delivery for identified vulnerable populations in Travis County. The Senior Project Manager may provide support to any of the departments within Central Health and may include the coordination and implementation of healthcare services, non-clinical healthcare programs, internal process improvement strategies, or quality improvement efforts. The Senior Project Manager will support all project related activities from initiation to close. All projects require, as appropriate, developing and maintaining project schedules, maintaining and properly controlling project scope, gathering and interpreting data, monitoring project budget, mitigating risks, and project implementation. Community partners and stakeholders are valuable components to the success of Central Health's initiatives; therefore, the Senior Project Manager will work closely with stakeholders and community partners, manage their needs and requirements regarding the project, and foster sustainable
relationships in alignment with Central Health goals and priorities. This position is considered Hybrid, which means that individuals in this position may work both at an approved.

**Hybrid = Individuals in this position may work both at an approved off-site location and onsite at a primary location or multiple locations based on business needs

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate projects to include developing project plans, leading project team activities, and
    managing day-to- day operational aspects of a project through to closing using project management principles
    and best practices.
  • Lead project team members or subject matter experts in defining project scope, resource requirements,
    timelines, and deliverables.
  • Continually monitor and report project progress to stakeholders, documenting lessons learned, identifying risk
    points and proposing solutions or escalating through the chain of command to leadership as needed.
  • Work closely with partners to contract for, implement, monitor, assess, and improve the performance of
    projects.
  • Conduct data analysis with minimal guidance and supervision, understanding how the data and the results of the
    analyses can impact programs or operations and how they can be applied to make changes.
  • Document existing operations or work-streams and analyze potential changes to maximize coordination or
    efficiency.
  • Participate in strategic or operational planning exercises for the Service Delivery Operations Department, Central
  • Health, or stakeholders.
  • Seek out learning opportunities to improve knowledge, skills, and abilities regarding project management and
    healthcare delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor degree


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 3 year of related experience with a Master’s degree
  • 3 years of related experience with a PMP certification from PMI

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years of related experience with a CAPM certification from PMI
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in a clinical environment, either in an administrative or clinical capacity

 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:

Project Management Professional (PMP) within 2 years
