JOB SUMMARY
The Central Health Government Affairs team is currently accepting applications for a part-time summer intern. The internship is an opportunity for students to learn more about local government and government affairs, with an emphasis on the budget development process. This position will support the development of the Central Health 2026 budget, create and compile briefing materials, assist in the preparation for presentations to local government and community groups and perform general administrative duties.

Essential Functions
-Assist in the preparation of presentations and briefings such as budget presentations, work session presentations, and public meetings.
-Provide in-person support for presentations, briefings and public events.
-Support the Government Affairs Team in the coordination of projects between government affairs, board governance, communications, strategy, health care delivery, finance, the CEO's office.
-Assists in monitoring of public meetings (e.g., Austin City Council, Travis County Commissioners Court)
-Conduct research and draft policy memos on federal, state, and local health care issues, including public health initiatives, Affordable Care Act, and City of Austin initiatives.
-Collaborate with internal Central Health teams, including health care delivery, finance, communications, strategy, board governance, and the CEO’s Office.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
-High School Diploma or equivalent (higher degree accepted)
-Some college credit / in process
