JOB SUMMARY


We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Architect to lead the architecture, design, implementation, and governance of our enterprise data ecosystem. This role requires extensive expertise in modern cloud-based data architectures, integration platforms, and governance frameworks. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with Data Lakehouse concepts using Azure Blob Storage or Amazon S3, ELT/ETL platforms, integration platforms, Snowflake Data Cloud, and data governance platforms, as well as proven knowledge in CI/CD pipelines and medallion architecture.

 

The Principal Data Architect will play a critical role in shaping our data strategy, ensuring scalability, performance, compliance, and alignment with organizational objectives.

 

Hybrid = Individuals in this position may work both at an approved off-site location and onsite at a primary location or multiple locations based on business needs.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions


-Lead the design and architecture of enterprise-scale data solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.
-Define and implement data architecture frameworks, with a focus on medallion (bronze, silver, gold) architecture for structured and unstructured data.
-Drive adoption and optimization of Azure Blob Storage for secure, cost-effective data storage and retrieval.
-Architect and oversee data integration workflows using the Boomi Integration Platform to streamline data movement across systems.
-Implement scalable Snowflake Data Cloud solutions, including Snowpipe, Snowpark, Streamlit, AI features, data sharing, performance tuning, and security best practices.
-Establish and maintain data governance policies in alignment with OvalEdge, ensuring compliance, quality, and metadata management.
-Collaborate with DevOps teams to design and implement CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics workloads.
-Partner with stakeholders across business and technology to translate business requirements into robust data solutions.
-Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance to engineering and data teams.
-Stay current with emerging technologies, cloud-native services, and data management trends to continuously improve the data landscape.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Hi School Diploma or equivalent (higher degree accepted with 4 years of professional technology experience OR Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

-10 years experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture.

-5 years direct Snowflake experience

 

REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:

-Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification (within 6 months of hire)

-Boomi Certification (within 3 months of hire)

-Snowflake SnowPro Advanced: Architect (within 1 year)
