The Director, Clinical Education & Development is responsible for evaluating, coordinating, and developing clinical
system orientation, competency, continuing education, and professional development programs to ensure quality
educational programming that meets the needs of the organization, as well as adheres to the rules and regulations
of all associated state and federal regulatory agencies, and any associated state and federal laws.

Oversee the operational and fiscal management of the Clinical Team member Orientation and Education department.
Oversee and manage the work and performance of the orientation and education staff, and support ongoing personal and professional development to ensure an effective overall department structure.
Develop, monitor, and report on key results for the orientation and education staff to drive and measure performance outcomes.
Ensure the delivery of quality orientation and ongoing education that encourages team members to actively engage in the learning processes.
Ensure all orientation and education adhere to HRSA, CMS, Joint Commission Standards, CDC, and other applicable regulatory agencies, as well as any associated state and federal laws.
Analyze department processes, procedures, policies, and technology, as well as business and organizational challenges related to orientation and education programs and identities and recommends improvement
opportunities.
Assess the learning needs of clinical and non-clinical staff based on quality improvement and risk management data, innovations in clinical care delivery and technology, regulatory requirements, the performance goals of the
facility, and feedback from staff and management teams.
Develop annual education and training plans based upon the assessment of needs to include orientation of new employees, competency assessment, continuing education requirements, and education response to quality
information.
Provide oversight for the development of EBP standardized onboarding, in-services, competencies, and educational programs and initiatives to support quality of care and a culture of excellence.
Collaborate with Leadership to identify education and training solutions to support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of the organization.
Facilitate integration of core values, culture of excellence principles, and professional development competencies to enhance patient and family learning across the continuum of care.
Develop, provide, and maintain learning resources to support quality care of populations served across the continuum of care.
Coordinate and facilitate selected IS/technology clinical education related projects that impact patient care.
Design measurements and tools to evaluate educational initiatives and impact on clinical outcomes and staff satisfaction.
Lead and/or participate in committees related to education and evidence-based practice to advance quality of care in alignment with organization strategic plan.
Maintain knowledge of healthcare trends and educational techniques and program evaluation methods consistent with ANPD Scope and Standards.
Function as the clinical education and professional development subject matter expert by providing consultative services related to adult learning principles, educational theory, curricular design, measurement, and evaluation.
Serve as a mentor and coach to educators, managers and staff and provide opportunities for professional and personal growth.
Actively participates in initiatives that have a fundamental impact on the organization.

Required: Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted)-Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Master's Degree (higher degree accepted)
Master of Science in Nursing, or Health care related field- Preferred
Doctoral or professional degree Doctoral-level degree- Preferred
Work Experience
Experience Experience Details Required:
5 -7 years of experience in Clinical Education, and/or Clinical Professional Development.
Preferred: 5 years Experience in Nursing Professional Development Leadership.
