Overview

The Joint Tech Performance Excellence Lead will play a key role in enhancing IT/IS (Joint Tech) service delivery by driving efficiency, quality, and strategic alignment. This position is perfect for a professional with a strong foundation in IT operations and performance improvement methodologies, particularly Lean or Six Sigma, who is passionate about effecting positive changes in technical environments. Lead will collaborate with cross functional teams to identify inefficiencies, develop innovative solutions, and implement strategies to optimize Joint Tech operations. You will assess current workflows, pinpoint areas for improvement, and lead initiatives that are ultimately aimed at reducing costs and improving patient care. By working closely with Joint Tech departmental leaders and other stakeholders, you will ensure that changes are sustainable and aligned with organizational goals. Key responsibilities include analysis and solutioning, change management, monitoring the effectiveness of implemented changes, and continuously seeking opportunities to further improve operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, a deep understanding of IT operations, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise in process improvement methodologies will be vital in driving measurable changes.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Lead cross-functional performance improvement initiatives in the Joint Technology department using Lean, Agile, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Partner with technical teams and enterprise stakeholders to support solution design and implementation for process, system, and service delivery challenges.
  • Participate as a member of the Joint Technology leadership team, collaborating on department strategy, priorities, and driving improvement goals.
  • Collaborate with performance improvement leaders across the enterprise to align improvement strategies, co-lead shared initiatives, and foster a learning culture.
  • Build operational capacity by coaching team members on improvement science, ownership models, and structured problem-solving.
  • Identify and define KPIs, success criteria, and management systems to enable consistent measurement and accountability.
  • Facilitate structured discovery, value stream mapping, and solutioning workshops to drive shared understanding and rapid iteration.
  • Apply change management and project delivery methods to advance improvement efforts and overcome barriers to adoption.
  • Develop and deliver executive-ready reports, presentations, and training to diverse stakeholders.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and iterate on implemented solutions to ensure sustainability and ongoing value.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted)

 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years IT operations or IT project delivery. Proven experience leading teams through complex performance improvement and change management initiatives, with sole responsibility for lean / six sigma knowledge and scope of work.

Licenses and Certifications.

  • Lean Green Belt certification (or equivalent) Within 6 Months Required
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Within 6 Months Required
  • ITIL 4 Strategist: Direct Plan Improve Within 6 Months Required
