The Epic Training Specialist I is responsible for the training and support of all clinical and administrative team members. The Epic Training Specialist I will create training documentation and curriculum; perform technical training for new hires and ongoing user training during system changes/upgrades; participate in quality assurance testing to ensure end user requirements are met with a focus on efficient clinic workflow. The Epic Training Specialist I will also perform other duties as assigned.
Hybrid = Individuals in this position may work both at an approved off-site location and onsite at a primary location or multiple locations based on business need.
Essential Functions
-Utilize standardized department tools/software systems to plan task/projects and monitor progress toward milestones and deadlines, reassigning resources when necessary to meet organizational objectives.
-Maintain a working knowledge of key indicators, standards, and processes related to EHR systems.
-Provide support for the roll out of Epic training to end users.
-Deliver educational offerings based on adult learning principles.
-Adhere to following standardized templates for lesson plans, manuals, tip sheets and other learning resources for end users.
-Evaluate end user learning outcomes and feedback to ensure effective high-quality education and training of end users. Recommend and implement innovative ways to enhance the effectiveness of education.
-Ensure all end users are properly trained and able to demonstrate proficiency in the system prior to gaining access to the production environment.
-Assist end-users with initial logins and verifying correct system access.
-Act as subject matter expert to ensure training quality and consistency.
-Collaborate with the Epic Training Specialist II and other responsible parties, for curriculum development, developing playground/practice environments, and relevant refreshing schedules.
-Able to travel between all Central Health clinics located throughout Travis County.
-Work collaboratively to create and continuously update technical training materials and learning resources for various training needs.
-Provide ongoing support to team members to ensure proficient utilization of the system.
-Maintain customer service orientation toward internal EHR stakeholders and responsiveness to requests and assigned tasks.
-Conduct both group and individual training sessions with end users as needed.
-Conduct training in person and virtually.
-Provide technical support via phone, online, and/or in person.
-Serve as a primary resource to the EHR super- users in ticket resolution.
-Assist with coordinating clinical/administrative requests for EMR system modification and act as a liaison between the end user and information technology to optimize tools and workflows in the EMR application.
-Provides check in with site's clinical staff through at the elbow support to assess end user fluency and satisfaction.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
High school diploma/equivalent (higher degree accepted)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
• One year of experience in computer related training, adult education or as an Electronic Health Record super-user
